Scriptures: Luke 19:1-10 Romans 12:1-2 SUMMARY | Every one of us here expect to see CHANGE or TRANSFORMATION in every aspect of life.
◦ If a boy of 15yrs still talk like a child of 6yrs what will you think? (Hebrews 5:12 You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food.)
◦ The school has a curriculum to transform students to certain image
◦ The Christian also have the Bible as curriculum to transform the believer.
Note: The scripture is not only for information but information that leads to transformation.
◦ Meaning of Transformation: Being changed into another form. Or a complete change for the better.
(Colossians1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son)
◦ Features of a kingdom
1. It has a king who rules
2. The kingdom has a culture
3. The king expects the citizens to reflect his principles and values. ( Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus)
◦ Our transformation is into Christ image who is our king. ( 2corithians3:18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.)
◦ So TRANSFORMATION is a journey but not a one time event (Ephesians 4:13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.)
ZACCHAEUS JOURNEY
Luke 19:1-10
◦ Who is zacchaeus : 1. Has a bad name
2.Chief Tax Collector
3.Rich
◦ How his journey started :
1. Had a Desire ( vrs 3)
2. Overcame the Crowd eg his position,material things etc( vrs 3)
3. He identified and accepted his weakness ( vrs3)
4. He acted and was intentional ( vrs 4)
Note : Spiritual transformation into Christlikeness is not going to happen unless we act because we have a part to play.
5. He sought transformation in Christ not his strength (vrs 4)
6. Zacchaeus responded to the call of transformation by renewing the mind. ( VRs 6-7)
7. He showed evidence of transformation ( Vrs 8) | | | | | CONCLUSION | As a Church we are on a journey into transformation so that we can bring transformation in our nation, City , family, marriage, workplace etc
Note: Never try to transform your life in order to know Jesus, you know Jesus and transformation begins for when zacchaeus knew knew he transformation begun.
